Naniki Jazz Safari starts up the 2014 season in Barbados tonight.
The Opening Night of the Naniki Caribbean Jazz Safari 2014 features Mary Wilson, former member of the The Supremes in a tribute to Lena Horne.
"Stormy Weather - the Story of Lena Horne ” will be a fund raiser for the victims of the Christmas Eve storm in St Vincent, which was the Jazz Safari’s last stop in 2013.
Wilson is the headline act tonight for “Night of the Legends” which features American pianist Randy Weston performing “The Panama Connection” in tribute to Panama. The 2014 Naniki Caribbean Jazz Legends Award for Barbados will also be presented to celebrated international Barbadian drummer Roy Haynes.
