As I sit in the Midwest tonight with snow, wind chills at -30 below zero, along with 30+ m.p.h. winds, the thought of a "Snow Room" on a Caribbean cruise does not excite me in the least (ˆ◡ˆ)
However for many cruisers this will be one of the more out of the ordinary things to experience on the seas . . .
The Snow Room's temps will range from 21 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit,
and will actually produce real snow several times a day.
The Snow Room is part of the Mandara Spa's Thermal Suite, and the health benefits are claimed to include stimulated blood circulation and a stronger immune system. The two deck spa will have a hydro-therapy pool, whirlpools, steam room, dry sauna, salt room as well as 24 treatment rooms with more than 50 services such as massages and facials.
Aqua Sports Center
Another new feature is a three-story elevated Ropes Course with 99 different elements, and the course spans the entire width of the ship with features on both the port and starboard sides. The course’s Sky Rails will put cruisers in the wind as they glide through the air on zip tracks - the longest one goes out over the side of the ship!
New relaxation spaces include the adults-only Vibe Beach Club and Spice H20 spaces. Spice H20 will feature a grotto with waterfalls that's unique to the Escape in addition to sun loungers, video screen and two hot tubs. The space transforms into a dance space at night. Vibe Beach Club requires an access pass and features a large hot tub, chaise loungers, water feature as well as a full-service bar.
Norwegian Escape will also feature the first-ever Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Sea, along with Tobacco Road a popular Miami, Florida Blues Bar. Other firsts include the largest water park and largest ropes course at sea.
The 4,200 passenger Norwegian Escape will be Norwegian Cruise Line's largest ship. Escape is currently under construction in Germany, and will begin sailing on November 14, 2015 from Port Miami. The 7 night eastern Caribbean cruise will make stops in St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau, Bahamas - along with three days at sea.
