Beach Lover’s Vacation - Bahamas Out Islands

The Bahama Out Islands - A place where time is forgotten . . .

Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort on Long Island, Bahamas is offering a Beach Lover's Vacation package

Long Island is aptly named as it is 90 miles long, and just four miles wide at its widest point. The Tropic of Cancer runs through the island making a stark contrast from the rugged Atlantic coast side to the sandy beaches along the Bahama Bank.

Cape Santa Maria is located on the most perfect fine white powder sand beach which has been recognized as one of the top 10 best beaches in the world.

The vibe is elegant, yet informal - and always relaxed

With just 20 beachfront bungalows, and a few villas, you will be only steps from what will feel like your own secluded beach paradise.

After dinner spend the evening relaxing in your screened beach front patio watching a spectacular Caribbean sunset, along with an abundance of stars. Each patio or porch comes equipped with mosquito spray - one less thing to bring!

During the day take advantage of the free on-site equipment: bikes, kayaks and hobie cat boat. There is a charge for snorkel equipment so you might want to bring your own. The on-site WiFi has the best signal from the main building. The front desk staff will handle rentals (cars, snorkel equipment and paddle boards), island-taxi transfers, diving, fishing and island tours

The Beach Lover's Vacation Includes:

  • 4 days/3 nights oceanfront accommodations
  • Welcome cocktail and bottle of wine
  • Complimentary 1/2 hour massage for two
  • Complimentary conch fritters every evening at Happy Hour
  • Complimentary use of kayaks and bikes

Things to do
On Long Island it's all about the water, beaches, cliff views and friendly locals

Visit the world famous Dean's Blue Hole - 663 feet deep, this is the world's deepest known salt water blue hole with entrance below sea level, and the world's second largest underwater cavern.

Rent a Car - It's easy island to get around as the main highway runs the entire length of the 90 mile long island. If you plan to go off road, you will have to rent an SUV as the side roads are rough and very rocky.

View the western coast of the island which borders the Caribbean Sea and Bahamas Bank - this coast is calm, and offers miles of sandy white beaches, shallow waters, mangroves and numerous small islets. You have to drive uphill to view the windy Atlantic seaside on the eastern coast where the huge limestone cliffs offer magnificent views of the crashing surf.

Charter a Fishing Boat - Long island is known for bone fishing along with tarpon, and the captain will cook your catch for dinner.

Best Cliff Views are at the Columbus Memorial at the tip of the island, and make sure to stop by Max's Conch bar, a small tiki restaurant with excellent food.

Getting There:

  • Long Island is approximately 250 miles from Nassau, and the small plane flight is approximately 45 minutes.
  • From Miami or Fort Lauderdale, Florida you can also fly 1 1/2 hours to Georgetown on neighboring Exuma Island, and then take a scenic boat ride to Long Island.
  • Another alternative is hiring a private charter ($525 per person one way) with direct flights to Cape Santa Maria from Ft Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach.

Cape Santa Maria is also offering Honeymoon, Luxury Villa Vacation, and Family Adventure Packages. Visit the site for more info and pricing - http://www.capesantamaria.com/
