Upcoming Caribbean Festivals and Events

We have been been busy updating our website's Festival/Carnival page for all the island happenings coming up in 2013. 

We're on "Caribbean Time" - no worries - all event updates for next year will be completed soon.  

There are still a number of 2012 Food, Music & Film Festivals, Carnivals, Golf Tournaments, Yacht Shows and Marathons.     


Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival 

November 16-19, 2012 
International and local chefs take part in cooking demonstrations, wine and rum seminars, along with other festival activities around the island. 

Visiting chefs include Canada's Mark McEwan, and Anne Burrell who has worked at some of New York's top restaurants. Events include: Sizzle Street from 1-8 p.m. at Queen's Park, Bridgetown; lunch at Fisher Pond Great House; Sunday Bajan Fiesta at the Lion Castle Polo Estate; Bar-B-Party Cruise aboard The Jolly and a Rum Tasting Tour at historic St. Nicholas Abbey.

2ND Annual International Film Festival Antigua Barbuda 

November 18-25, 2012 
Enjoy viewing this years films outdoors under the stars at English Harbour. The festival also features an after party with live entertainment, and workshops. 


12th-annual Reggae Marathon 

December 1, 2012 
Marathon runners will be greeted with reggae music and a Red Strip beer after each mile, along with a coconut at the end of the race. 

Approximately 1,600 International competitors will arrive in Negril for this years event run along Negril's famous Seven Mile Beach.

Cayman Islands Marathon 

Dec 2, 2012 
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon is run every year in early December. 

The looped course takes participants along the waterfront of George Town, the capital, into the residential area of South Sound, and then into the financial district and along the waterfront once again.

9th Annual Bahamas International Film Festival

Dec 6-9, 2012 
Screening line-up of independent films, along with youth educational programs, workshops, networking opportunities, and celebrated actors and filmmakers. 


Run Barbados

Dec 7-9, 2012 
Come for the run - Stay for the fun! Since 1983, Run Barbados has attracted world class road runners. Charities for the event are The Barbados Cancer Society and the Little Pink Gift Foundation. 


Paradiseworld 2012 

December 15, 2012 
An elaborate electronic dance music production featuring some of the hottest international djs and producers. 

Artists confirmed to date include; Miss Nine, Riot Gear, Michel De Hey, and Christopher James.

St. Kitts/Nevis Carnival 

Dec 15, 2012 - Jan 2, 2013 
Sugar Mas, St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival is an extravaganza of calypso, pageants, soca, street jamming, parades and folklore presentations. 


28th Havana International Jazz Festival 

December 16-24, 2012 
This is one of the biggest annual events on the island of Cuba featuring performers from around the globe including performers from the U.K., U.S., Argentina, Chile and Bermuda. 

Popular local jazz bands performing are Mayra Caridad Valdes, Bobby Carcasses, Jose Luis Cortes, Harold Lopez-Nussa, Ernan Lopez-Nussa and Lazaro Valdes.


Carriacou Parang Festival 

December 21-23, 2012 
Right off the coast of Grenada, the tiny island of Carriacou is host for the annual Parang Festival. 

Festivities include an open-air concert, cultural shows, and competition of parang string bands from villages throughout Carriacou, Grenada and Petite Martinique. More info  



Dec 26, 2012 
Maskanoo is an annual cultural event organized by the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) and the Cultural & Arts Commission (CAC). 

The events showcases the best of the islands' cultural heritage, mixing Junkanoo (taken from TCI's Bahamian heritage) with Masquerade to create "Maskanoo".

Junkanoo Carnival - Nassau 

Dec 26, 2012 & Jan 1, 2013 
The Junkanoo parade starts moving through the streets of downtown Nassau in the early hours of the morning (2am to 10am). You can't resist the beat of the goat drum as the drummers call out for Junkanoo to begin. 

The largest Junkanoo party parades is in Nassau, however the carnival atmosphere extends to Grand Bahama Island, Eleuthera/Harbour Island, Bimini, The Exumas and The Abacos.
