Hundreds of racers will participate in one of the oldest races on the North American triathlon circuit.

The annual Captain Morgan Ironman 70.3 race on St. Croix celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013, and the race is a qualifier for the Ironman World Championships.

The race attracts some of the world’s best triathletes to the U.S. Virgin Islands. The race has earned the nickname "Beauty and the Beast" for its scenic yet challenging course with its steep uphill climb.

The more advanced swimmers can participate in 1, 2.5, 3.5 mile open-water swims starting from Maho Bay and ending at Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay and Hawksnest respectively.
