The new Gansevoort Playa Imbert oceanfront resort just opened this month on the Dominican Republic's northern coast

The resort is just 15 minutes from Puerto Plata Airport, and offers 48 suites consisting of one and two bedroom lofts, three bedroom apartments with private plunge pools and spacious terraces.
There is also a collection of four bedroom penthouses with private rooftop Jacuzzi, floor to ceiling windows, state of the art kitchens, walk in showers, custom bathrubs and natural stone finishes.
A three tiered infinity pool overlooks the crescent shaped beach, and an adults only pool is planned for the Spring of 2015.
The on-site Baia Lounge features gourmet Mediterranean specialties and Asian-inspired fare executed by Executive Chef Giancarlo Fiori, whose credits include the acclaimed Peninsula House and Michelin 3-star El Bulli restaurant in San Sebastian Spain.
A wide collection of wines from around the world and a fully-stocked humidor are offered in La Cantina Wine and Cigar Celler located in an underground setting.
Rates at Gansevoort Playa Imbert range from $595 per night to $5,000 per night, including breakfast for two. For accommodations including breakfast, lunch and dinner for two, rates will range from $795 to $5,800. All rates include round trip transfers from and to Puerto Plata Airport (POP).
